Those Darlins (with Lin playing drums) came through town tonight. They let me in to watch their sound check, but I only had a half-hour to hang out. Some girl on the street took this picture of Lin and me. Then I had to rush over to Mississippi Pizza and play my own show. It was fun, but I wish it hadn't fallen on the same night my friends were in town.
Through playing to a click, I discovered secret measures of 5/4 and 6/4 in the chorus of "A Group Thing" that I didn't realize were there. Take that, Geddy Lee - I can write nerdy technical music without even trying!
Whenever I flip through a magazine or newspaper, I always open it from the back and go from right to left. Then if I find something I'm interested in, I have to find the beginning of the story and read it the right way.
I'm getting so sick of still having my stuff in boxes. But I can't unpack until I have someplace to put all my things. So tonight I put together my blue bookshelf. It was last seen being disassembled by Devin. Before that it was seen here, here, here, here, and (in pieces) here. Its twin is probably in a thrift store in Richmond right about now. What a way to spend a Friday night. Woo!
I brought a bunch of stuff back from my mom's house to sell on the internet in order to stay busy and hopefully make some money while I don't have a job. If this picture doesn't sell some jeans that are too small for me, then there's something wrong with America.
