Recording New Songs

Through playing to a click, I discovered secret measures of 5/4 and 6/4 in the chorus of "A Group Thing" that I didn't realize were there. Take that, Geddy Lee - I can write nerdy technical music without even trying!

The Richmond - Nashville Connection

If you're going to record a proper version of "A Group Thing," you've got to get Laurel Lane to sing the female vocal part. Pretty convenient that she lives in Richmond now.

With all this preparation for the show on Friday, when am I going to find time to pack?

Xerox transfer is the best/most annoying process. I am so glad Lindsay Eyth showed it to me/wish I had never heard of it.

More recording

Crossing our fingers that it will be done by the last show on Aug. 8. That will be the fastest turn around time for a recording ever.

Recording Unicorn Horns

Since I'm leaving in a few weeks, we are recording the Unicorn Horns set with Chris Watts. Steve and I got through the drums, bass, and half of the vocals today. We had to stop early because Chris's roommate was giving his kittens a flea bath and the meowing was picking up on the mic.

Elle came over tonight and recorded a song. Then later Kelli, Kyle, and I added some vocals to it.

I went to Seth Moore's house today and helped him with his recordings for eight hours.
