Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not roadkill

Every time I go for a long time without riding my bike and then ride it again, I love it more than I remembered.

My Doctor McCoy button fell off my backpack while I was riding. Luckily I heard it hit the road... I had to turn around and pick it up.

Burgerville, USA... Inconviently located for most of America

As to be expected in Portland, I try out a new place to eat and it is amazing. Also as to be expected, it's super cute.

What's missing in all of these pictures?

An air conditioner!! And while Oregon summers are hardly as hot or as long as they are in the South, it can get pretty sweaty when most buildings don't have air conditioning.

Amazing deals on Craigslist

Matt Ladd and I have been amazed at the recent craziness on Craigslist. After Michael Jackson's death, his records were being listed for hundreds of dollars. Now with the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, people are trying to cash in again. Matt sent me this ad:

No response back. Looks like I'll be making a quick $450.

You can teach an old turtle new tricks

She's figured out that this wooden thing is where her food goes, so when she's hungry she sits by it and waits to be fed.

Back in Portland

I'm back in Portland where well-dressed people walk down the street carrying laptops next to hippies in nothing but overalls, where there are signs on the drawbridges reminding you to turn off your engine so you don't pollute if you are stuck on the bridge when it is up, and where a sock-knitting convention will be held this weekend. What a great town... now if only all my friends would move here.
