Catherine Opie at the Portland Art Museum

I went to see Catherine Opie speak at the Portland Art Museum. She takes socially-loaded portraits like this one:


But also takes picture of houses, strip malls, and highways like this:


I wrote about her series of high school football photos in my thesis paper:




Afterward I got dinner with Petra. She met her wife while they were both in bible college - that's a pretty good story.

Nice way to decorate your walls. I have never done that. My effort to beautify the walls in my house was to order big-sized canvas prints from wahooart.com, from images of western art.
