This was not my car, but many suffered the same fate after Hurricane Isabel in 2003. It was awful. My apartment was out of power and hot water for ten days. The day after to storm I rode my bike around taking pictures. My Grandmother misunderstood me and for months after that told everyone that I rode the 10 miles to her house. Nope, I drove. Luckily there were no big trees on my block.
My grandmother made the Eeyore. Olympus made the tape recorder. I don't know who made the bed or the window or the walls. I made the picture.
My Dad built this bookshelf in his bedroom at my Grandmother's house when he was in high school. After she died and we had to clean the house out, I could think of nothing that would make the house less of our family's home than taking down that bookshelf. It just seemed so permanent. Although it would be sad, during all the cleaning out, I imagined a nice father-son moment in taking it apart with him. However, he ended up getting an estate sale company to come and sell off everything left in the house after we had gotten out what we wanted. I don't blame him, if I had a 40-year old bookshelf, I wouldn't be able to take it apart either.
