I don't ever want to live too far from trains. If I did, how would I know which side of the tracks I was on?

Jared Micah and the Hats at my house this weekend
They are such a good band. When they hit that "tra la la la la tra la la la" part in that one song where the whole band is belting it out... it's just wonderful. I wish I could write songs that were as abstract and other-worldly as theirs.
And here is the recording of the song from the house show (most of it, anyway.. the recorder ran out of tape)

Seth Moore and Chris Freeman's Attempt to Sneak In to Bonnaroo
Apparently it is somewhat common for Middle Tennessee residents to sneak into Bonnaroo. Seth Moore had done it in previous years and asked me if I wanted to come along this year. I thought it would be a fun adventure, so I went along.
He said he knew a safe spot to leave the car that was pretty close to the camping area. Security, however, was tighter this year.
So we drove around looking for another place to sneak through the fence and found these kids from New Jersey hanging out in a pull-off by a cell-phone tower. They said they could lead us to a good spot.
However, they drove like crazy drunks and switched lanes faster than we could keep up, so we lost them in traffic. We decided to walk back to the cell phone tower to try to get through the fence there. We had to pass this campground, and as we did, we were stopped by a dude.
Then Seth had an idea about how to get around the campgroud and the dude.
Then we drove home.
We went to Murfreesboro and ended up playing music at Lin's house for like 3 hours. That smoothed over any unhappiness from the failed adventure. All is well now.

The Internet Archive
In a time before everyone was a blogger, publishing on the internet was left to the few nerds who could type up html in Notepad. From 1998 onward, I was (still am) one of those nerds. Yesterday I was very excited to find that The Internet Archive contains all the old pages I used to make!!
Unfortunately they are a little splotchy: they don't have all the images and some of the links don't work, but I'm still glad this little piece of personal/local band history is still available:
And for you Richmonders.. here is the best part! Free Punchline classifieds from 2001!!!! Scroll down for some not-so-secret messages to "Plaza TMBG Girl" - those were from me. Also the one naming all the World Cup employees.

Another flyer
I made this flyer, too. That makes two flyers with the word "tiger" on them and not one picture of a tiger - I'm so proud of myself!
Here are some other flyers I made in my past life.
